During the uncertainty of the Covid Quarantine I found it very difficult to immerse myself in my painting process. I couldn’t focus and became restless. So I went outside and drew little views around my yard. I carved these sketches into linoleum blocks and printed them on different colored papers. The carving provided focus and the printing itself spontaneous surprises which was a good balance for me at the time. As the seasons changed I added details to the prints with acrylics, which slowly led me back into painting. Later on I used carved wooden blocks from India in demonstrations and to make wrapping paper and cards. My recent paintings include block prints, collage and other materials. Photos include workshops at IYRS, Portsmouth Free Public Library, Portsmouth Arts Guild and student work.
